John Day's history of the motor car is a car book with a difference. Most histories deal with complete cars. The Bosch Book of the Motor Car explains how the various parts that make up the motor car were invented and developed. Certain 'key' cars which pioneered essential stages in the development of component parts and are therefore milestones in motoring technology have been selected. But this book is far more than a mere roll call of great names. John Day pays a long overdue tribute to the many hitherto unknown pioneers who were the first to produce ideas for components which now have become standard parts throughout the industry.
