Mark Skaife ended his 22 year full-time Australian Touring Car/V8 Supercar career at the age of 41 in 2008.
Returning for endurance drives in 2009, 2010 and 2011, Skaife stunned the motorsport world by taking his first dual enduro victory at Phillip Island and Bathurst, together with Triple Eight Race Engineering team regular Craig Lowndes, in the #888 Team Vodafone Holden Commodore.
Skaife’s stellar career has included a record equalling 5 Australian Touring Car Championships and 6 Bathurst 1000 victories.
He also holds the all-time records of 89 race wins and 41 round wins and has taken part in the second most event starts, totaling 219.
On October 18, 2011, Skaife announced that he would be stepping down from driving to take up his role as Chairman of the V8 Supercar Commission.
