The RS 1600 version is a milestone in the history of the first series Escort. Produced from 1969 to 1975 in just under 1000 examples, this car had an exceptional career in competitions, both in rallying and on the track. The engine was the brilliant Cosworth BDA 16 valve 1599cc and 120hp in the production version. The reinforced body was derived from that of the Twin Cam model (1968-1975).
