The LX SL/R 5000 announced in 1976 was little changed mechanically from the LH. Road-going cars featured a 5.0 litre (308ci) engine with the compression ratio increased to 9. 1:1 and four barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburettor giving 250bhp (186kW). Visually, the LX now had large 'SLR5000' insignia printed on its sides.
