The USS Enterprise was the first nuclear powered carrier to be produced with the ability to stay at sea almost indefinitely It is essentially a floating base! She's been involved in the Cuban blockade during the missile crisis, the Vietnam/Korean wars, and even the Afghanistan and Iraq wars in the 2000's. She was finally decommissioned in 2012 and was undergoing deactivation of its 8 nuclear before being scrapped.
