PLATE ONE: Peter Brock casts a determined eye over Mount Panorama and sees the race he made his own. Through Conrod Straight, Murrays Corner, and The Cutting, the King knows every twist and turn of his mountain kingdom. Come what may, Brocky will prevail. Let the Great Race begin!
PLATE TWO: 1979's Torana A9X leads the way, followed closely by '72 gutsy Torana LJ XU-1 and 78's A9X. A first taste of victory and the legend is born. But the best is yet to come.
PLATE THREE: The legend grows with each spectacular win. 1984's VK Commodore leads the pack, hotly pursued by the 'yellow terror', 75's Torana L34, the historic first 05. Giving chase is 1980's VC Commodore. In the background, the lap board indicates the number of each win.
PLATE FOUR: Thundering home is 1987's VL Commodore, with 1982's VH Commodore in a bumper to bumper tussle with 1983's VH. One invincible driver, nine spectacular wins. The record books have been rewritten. The legend is untouchable.
